Mother Arrested for Defending Her Life

Illinois Woman Kidnapped DGU

Decatur, Illinois – Law enforcement officials are holding a mother in jail for defending her life against the father of her child.

According to Sgt. Chris Copeland with the Decatur Police Department, officers were dispatched to a report of a gunshot victim arriving at HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital at around 6:50 p.m.

When police arrived, they were told by an unidentified 33-year-old man that he had been shot in the side by a 29-year-old woman outside his home in the 3800 block of East Grand Ave.

Investigators contacted the woman who the wounded man said shot him, and she came into a station for questioning voluntarily. During questioning, the woman told police she had been attacked by the man while in her car. She said he beat her, and officers noted several injuries on her face consistent with being beaten.

The mother had a medical shunt in her head from an injury which occurred previously, and the risk of death was higher for blows to the head. She told police she was afraid of being killed by the father of her child and fired the shot in self-defense.

Despite this, officials decided to charge her with aggravated, unlawful use of a firearm since she did not possess a concealed carry license for the weapon which she used to defend her life.

Her attacker was charged with vehicle invasion, and domestic battery and released after posting a $10,000 bond.

The mother, however, was arrested and is being held in jail since she couldn’t post the $75,000 Decatur court officials required her to pay for her freedom.

Self-defense insurance provides financial support in the event you are targeted by unscrupulous prosecutors looking to pad their conviction records by making an example of those not wealthy enough to defend themselves adequately in court.

Not everyone can pay out $75K for their freedom, or hire competent self-defense attorneys for a fair shake in the courts. CCW Safe is a good place to start looking for quality self-defense insurance.

Last couple of paragraphs hawking CCW insurance… that wouldn’t have covered this woman since she was using a gun illegally.

I would have taken this more seriously if it hadn’t ended up a goal of selling a product. This is what the Democrats do. Shoot people en mass to sell gun control agenda.

I ran across a interesting situation in Los Angeles. I am licensed in Texas but did not dare carry there even though I had been in a bad area accidently but got out safe.
I do consulting for attorneys and posed the question of gun carry there. At the time carrying concealed was a misdemeanor. However a felony is easily developed. Because my Texas firearm is not registered in California that would be the felony!
I try to travel only to 37 states that recognize my license to control my safety with Illinois being a crap shoot. ẞupposedly my license is good but the minute I get out of my vehicle it’s a felony.
I suppose that good enough in Chicago where my Glock is on my lap with my hand at the ready for a would be car jacket.
Well over a decade ago I worked in the projects of the Chicago south side before they were demolished. Coppers would not let me go in some places without being armed. Good move and saved my life more than once!
I was once asked by a rookie Chicago cop why I carried 7 guns? I aswered with a question: Ever been in a gun fight?

It was very dangerous. My partner an extremely smart and obedient Timber Wolf protected me. No one came near me with a unleashed dog that circled me when I walked.
It’s when I would be there without her that I got into trouble! Stabbed and left for dead once. Shot a couple times but the best part is that I survived!
Now don’t due that nonsense anymore but the money was extremely good.
I have been gone for over 14 years and moved to a little town in Texas and retired now. I have 10 herniated discs from a AR crash in 1997. Age with injury has forced me to walk with a cane. I am now looked at as a old disabled man by a bad guy. 3 seconds before cane is dropped, tmb break is lifted and Glock is out of holster on Target!
Although I no luck nger face a daily threat, ready for one.

Also carry self- defense insurance through ussca. If I am hitor pushed to round, documented could paralyze or kill me so no question on justification.
I never want to hurt anyone, but if it’s me or them, I would rather they lose!
