Driving through Chicago is usually a stressful ordeal. Speaking from experience, some of the traffic is downright nightmarish but even the worst of rush hours, things don’t often turn into an event where shots are fired, but that is exactly what happened on the 9500 block of South Stony Island Avenue on Monday morning.
The concealed carrier in this story is a 39-year-old man whose name has not yet been released to the public. What is known about him though is that he was driving through town in his white 2015 Dodge Charger when another driver in a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox pulled up beside him and began shooting at him.
Now, it’s unclear if the driver of the Equinox knew that his bullets would be met by any in return, but the response from the 39-year-old concealed carrier was just that.
The two engaged in a brief shootout, with their cars still moving before the man in the Equinox who fired first crashed his car off the side of the road and proceeded to run off on foot in an attempt to escape the defensive shooter’s bullets.
